All Ages -although we mainly reach children from ages 6-12, we see how gardens reach different age groups in different ways, and hope to develop these ideas further

Many Cultures - in our community there are people from many diverse cultures and nations, speaking many different languages. This is an incredibly rich environment from which to learn from each other's food traditions, folk remedies and to get to know each other better.

Anti-Racism -  food justice means dismantling racism

Community Engagement - school gardens are public space and are good for community spirit

Special Needs - the school food garden is a good place to increase access to nature and natural food
