Sunday Harrison is the founder of Green Thumbs Growing Kids and is currently serving as Program Director/Volunteer Co-ordinator. She brings entrepreneurial experience and knowledge from a background in trades, including landscape architecture and design for printed matter. Sometime in the 90s she decided that trees were better planted than turned into junk mail, and retrained for a career in horticulture with a special interest in food production. She has volunteered for many social justice and environmental causes.

Some very skilled and knowledgeable staff have developed the Green Thumbs programs since they began in 1999, and their knowledge and varied approaches to garden-based education have enriched the organization immensely. Xuan-Yen Cao, Joanne Hovey, Lara Mrosovsky, Abbey Huggan, and the late Dagmar Baur all contributed enormously and we thank them from the bottom of our hearts!
